Apple: iPhone & Maxis

iKnew it was comming, well duh.. many people did. Well I did get a hint that it was comming real soon in like 2 weeks before the it was going to be launched which is soon (20th March) – One of the few perks of working at an apple retail store.

iPhone 3G

iPhones are nothing new, really. I get to see at least one everyday at work but those are hacked ones, unofficial ones. IMHO, I think there are two types of people who would go for a hacked iPhone – the tech savvy and the show-off type. The tech savvy ones are few and they know well about the risks of getting one of these things, no warranty and support; well, they are savvy enough to fix it on their own when they do run into trouble. The other type is the more common type, and it’s not surprising if they have a certain kind of attitude, should I say the typical first class society but third world mentality? With the official release, it serves as a slap in the face to those who paid high blackmarket prices for the hacked phones.

With Maxis as the official malaysian carrier for the iPhone… ridiculously priced subscription plans are expected, just like in other countries.

I ain’t jumping on this band wagon anytime soon, I rather wait for a far better deal

I would rather get two iphone for almost the same price quoted by Maxis plus you can always fix your iphone if you have the courage to mess things up or you can simply send to a technician which simple charges you an “affordable” rate to get your iphone fixed.

Anyway, I am not into Iphone really much..I prefer something else than Maxis’s iphone, for instance, Diamond 2 from HTC..

Haha, believe it or not my sources say Maxis will be handling the service of iPhones.. not apple guys (can we trust them?, erm Maxis guys)

Google Android as a mobile platform is something interesting to watch as it makes into more mobile phones, like ones from HTC.

iPhone OS 3.0 releasing today in the US, i wonder what’s that all about. Dates like that coincide nicely with the 2oth, something’s up :)

Maxis officers will be handling Iphone 3S? I don’t really trust them to handle iPhone well, who knows what charges might appear out of nowhere.. :P (Inspection fee, handling fee bla bla)

Google Android as a platform has been quite promising, but what iPhone sells is part of its operating system and the availability of a lot of applications as well..you name it, they got it..

bro when u getting an iphone? :P

  4. Chee Meng says:

Not soon.. unless there is a very compelling reason to get one. BTW iPhone OS 3.0 fixes a lot of the stuff that should have been fixed earlier on.

And kudos to software version 3.0 unlocks bluetooth on iPod Touch 2G

still to get official iphone here in malaysia is like cutting your own wrist or selling your body at Lorong Haji..

which paves demand for unofficial version

IMO unofficial’s support may be much better than maxis
