In my spare time early in the morning, I decided to do some poking around with Apple’s newly released beta of Safari 4 browser. I lined it up with a few other browsers which I had installed, on the SunSpider 0.9 JS benchmark. PS: I ran IE7 in a virtual machine; and it’s a shame I don’t have Firefox 3.1b2 installed
EDIT: Higher values is better(rel speed), lower values better (time)
EDIT: March 03, 2009 – Tested with Firefox 3.1b2, it’s faster than Firefox 3.0 but still slight slower than Google Chrome 1.0 (around 1200ms)

I’ve personally tested the Safari 4 beta and it works very well excepts on youtube. Do you encounter the same problem too?
What sort of problem? I haven’t tested it much, besides the benchmarks. But i did fired it up just now on youtube… it gave me the whole site in chinese.. lol must be a preferences/setting issue somewhere. I fixed that in a jiffy. Besides that, everything seems to work fine
PS: uggh.. wordpress template horror.. if u find this posts particularly hard to read bear with me.. i’m adjusting the css colors.
EDIT: css edits done
Seems like it cannot handle flash sites well (for me) and i have no idea it has been crashing very late often, but I don’t blame it, since it’s just a beta.
If your connection sucks, what’s the difference of having a blazing speed browser?
For the lul? Hahaha….
FYI Hikaru, this test is a javascript engine test. We all know Streamyx broadband by TMnet sucks. The point is, I don’t have to wait even longer for a bloody page to render after its has been downloaded over an already turtle-ish connection
