Spring is here, and the greens starts to show after the cold winter months. It’s getting little warmer, the snow thaws and everything comes to life…
That is how spring is supposed to be, which unfortunately does not happen geographically here in M’sia. Well facts aside, I should follow the suit too, I’ve been cold long enough — all these months. Winter was bitterly cold, and yet at the same time peacefully silent and beautiful. Nevertheless it’s time is up, and a new season is here.
It is always funny how always April begins with a joke — this time it’s the mainstream media reporting on the Conficker worm. It went on everywhere on the internet, international media jumped on the news. Surprisingly it was also reported in M’sian TV, ntv7 8pm news. It in fact a good move by our local media to bring these world technology issues to the malaysian public. But in this day and age, when mainstream media gets their hands on technology news, it is always old news. Anyway it ended up overhyped… and nothing actually happened on that day. If you are interested what this reported April 1st activation of the Conficker really is, let me point you in the right direction to the guys who knows their stuff (Security Now Audio Podcast Ep. 190 with Text Transcript and Wiki Notes)
Nuff said about April 1st, my last few weeks was spent mostly outing with friends or fixing comps. I think I’ll take a break from those two things for as while, it is exhausting going around places a lot. So that means the PC Fair later today is a no-go (April 10th-12nd, KLCC). I have nothing to get from there these days, and it’s not really a bargain to go down town KL just to get stuff that maybe slightly cheaper. I’ve gotten myself a copy of Left 4 Dead earlier this week and a new gaming mouse; props to Wei Shiang for the recommendation of the razer lachesis mouse, it’s great so far. So in the coming weeks I’ll be looking forward to be back into some serious first person shooter gamming.

Hey not forgetting it’s Good Friday today, I’ll probably drop by school, visiting CF today. Plus some other minor business — haha yes, you guessed it right, the usual type.
Edit: rain, didn’t go school.

Nice purchase with the mouse! ^^ While everyone seems to be gaming busy lately, I’m giving a thought that maybe I might too, some day later..
Do you still AA these days? I might join back after my initial purchase of a powerful comp hehe
@Kuan Hing, Not AA particularly, I’m expecting their version 3… some time this year. I still update my punkbuster although I’m not playing, u know it’s sometimes a pain to download PB updates while on a server.
It’s actually a great time to buy a new comp, with i7 quads going mainstream soon, prices should drop alongside to keep the competitive edge in these troubled times. But Windows 7 seems to be promising, worth the wait perhaps? Haha
Maybe I’ll consider buying soon, but not within this month because there’s been too many outgoing cash flows rather than inflows..
I’m controlling, but yeah..perhaps soon.
Windows 7? I’ve heard rumors, and most are rumors. May is going to be another interesting month, perhaps we can have a peek at the RC release!
And how I wish if they could offer rebates or discounts for Vista users since many people claim that Win 7 is actually a “fix” version of Vista. Well if Microsoft put a premium and charges us for the “fix”, god knows what will happen?
@Kuan Hing, I’ll already have my hands on the RC (build 7057)… It should appear as a public RC around May.
Windows 7 is what Vista was supposed to be, if they hadn’t rushed it out
Hmm are you sure on that? You can get build 7077 already and it is likely that the RC build is 7100.

@Kuan Hing, A mistake on microsoft part, the updated the RC page a bit earlier ahead of time,
http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/2009/03/windows-7-rc-download-page-goes-up-early-coming-in-may.ars
The public link on the page was build 7057 supposingly, RC or not 7057 is, that I’m not 100% sure, but it sure does not expire on May 31 2010. (I’ve tried fast forwarding system clock). It’s sure gonna be 7057 or later.
Spring was never something good to begin with…in this country…….
@Hikaru, What’s with the negative mood? Cheer up a little, go play something on your computer instead of being emo.
Hmm, interesting. There has been quite a lot of surprising feedbacks I got from Win 7, even if it’s on Beta.
Hopefully there should be a subsidized rate for us Vista users. =P
Negative? When everything seems to be turning around their back to you, how optimistic can you be?
I wished I could cheer up and better yet, I wish she could cheer me up. =(
